Able to think/act quickly while under extreme pressure

Grayback Forestry is currently accepting applications and interviewing top applicants for entry level and experienced Wildland Firefighters/Forestry Workers for 2017 season at our Merlin and Medford locations. This is a seasonal position with potential for full time employment.

Grayback Forestry has contracts with government agencies and private entities to perform all phases of forest restoration, hazardous fuels reduction, emergency services, and fire suppression work.

Requirements: All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants are selected based on physical condition, mental toughness, and character. Applicants should DESIRE INTENSE HARD WORK and have a GOOD ATTITUDE. Be able to travel out of the state and work in extremely rugged terrain under all kinds of environmental conditions. Expect to work long hours, 8-16 hours per day. All applicants are subject to background check and drug screen prior to employment.

Training: Training is not required to apply. If selected, Grayback Forestry conducts several Basic and Refresher training sessions in Spring and early Summer at each of our locations. Basic Training is a 5-day course that consists of a fitness capacity test, classroom training and a field day.

Wages: Starting wage for fires 14.47 for first 40 hours. Other rates would depend on experience, position, or contract rates for applicable type of work
